Because I fall so short of Your glory

Friday night I was at Cayla's, it took about 3 hours to figure out how to get there and included going to Warren's, to Cayla's, back to Warren's, then to Cayla's again. So when Charlie hit there were still 80 mph winds and micro bursts and stuff. But we had power through the whole thing, amazingly, yay for the Clifton's electricity. It hit, the worst part, at about 9:25pm. We could hear the wind howling and the rain sounded like hail, but the power never went out at Cayla's. Since there were lights, it wasn't as scary as it would have been without. It's soooo frightening without power!
The next day I went home to my house and on the way home there were HUGE, 50-70 year old oak trees just torn out of the ground that landed on houses. The Clifton's fence fell over, and their flagpole (full size), that's in 6ft of concrete in the ground, is leaning to one side because of the winds. My yard was totally littered with huge branches and a 5 yr old tree came out of the ground. Amazingly, no branches/trees landed on my house or through the pool screen:).
A few blocks over the damage is MUCH worse, tons of old trees were lyingin the middle of the roads, they brought power lines down with them. Some of them were so big that I could ride my bike under the ones laying over the road.
As I went around Dommerich to look at the impact Charley had made, I saw these 2 "old" ladies trying to clean up their yard, there were some branches that even a guy would have a hard time lifting alone, so I got off my bike and helped them. One's nameis Georgia, she's probly in her late 50's, her mother lives with her, she's probly about 80. Georgia works at a middle school with Emotionally Challenged kids. She teaches math and science. We all worked a good 2 hours and then it began to rain so we just talked on their porch. We didn't go inside because no one had AC/power in all of Dommerich/English Estates.
I still don't have power, but my mom bought a generator, so we have cords going all through our house that are running our fridge, microwave, and miscellaneous fans. We use the grill to cook dinner. It's sooo hot! All day I've been riding my bike outside 'cus that way, atleast I get a breeze. ~*It took my mom and I an hour and a half to get gas Sunday*~
I slept over at Cayla's Sunday night, Lyd and Katie did too, yay for Sisterhood sleepovers. We slept at Cayla's because it was the only place that had AC.
Lyd, Cayla, and Katie are at Lyd's tonight sleeping over 'cus Lyd got power this morning. I decided not to sleepover because I need sleep and if I sleepover, I won't go to bed 'till atleast 2am. I was going to sleep at my house, but Mrs. Clifton suggested that I sleep at her house because she has AC/power. She just got cable/internet tonight, hoorah, I'm happy, hehe.
That brings to why I'm on the computer, because I'm sleeping at the Clifton's, though Cayla isn't here. They have AC/power/tv/internet (the best combination!), so I'm on their computer.
Chloe is here (cayla's sis) (8th), so is Cydney(cayla's cousin) (7th), so I'm hanging out with them tonight for a while; we're gonna have a sleepover of our own (that ends at 11) in Cayla's room;P.
Seminole County (my county) didn't have school today or tomorrow, they're still deciding about the rest of the week, we'll find out at noon tomorrow. Orange county isn't going back until the 24th, they got hit pretty hard, but I'm right next to (2 blocks) Orange County. I hope we go back to school sorta, 'cus otherwise it will be a mess trying to makeup all those days we missed; we already have tomake up 3 days.
The power people are saying that I might not have power in my house until Saturday, ugh.
