My birthday was kind of interesting, haha. I went to the DMV to get my permit first, but I failed the written test (there's only a written test) so I had to take it again. They charged me $5 to take it again. My picture isn't all that bad, I kinda like it.When my mom and I (mom was drving) were going home, my mom pulls out this tiny box, but I knew it wasn't a key 'cus we're too "poor" to afford a car. I open it secretly all excited though 'cus there's always a chance my parents splurged or something. And you know what was inside?! A KEYRING! Now you're thinking "omgosh! Amy got a car!" But no, it didn;t happen that way. I only got a key ring, no keys, no car waiting for me. I was so ticked off. Why on earth would I need a keyring if I have no keys?! I mean, mom thought it would be nice to have a keyring, but I HAVE NO KEYS! It was like she was flaunting the fact that I didn't car yet right in my face. It's not like I would need to put her or dad's carkeys on it, I have to drive WITH them, so of course I'll have their keys with me. Yeah, so I wasn't in that great of mood the rest of the day.
I thougt I was gonna get to drive as soon as we got home in the school parking lot, but noooo, my mom had to get groceries. Then I thought I was gonna get to drive, but my mom had to get Mary some xmas presents. And maybe I could drive before we went home, nope (had to make dinner). So my mom didn't know that driving was REALLY important to me and it was the whole point of my birthday since I really don;t like birthday cake and we never go out to eat so birthday dinners aren't that important. Then Amy Sax called me and was like "So have you driven yet? Are you goign to drive tonight? Why not? Oh, that's sad..." And She made me realize how much I wanted to drive and then my mom and I got in a big fight in the car over how she would've let me drive if she had known it was that important to me (she wouldn't have even if she did know, and I think she knew, I mean, I was asking her to let me drive! AND IT WAS MY BIRTHDAY!). THen my dad called mom's cell and while she was trying to get it, she almost ran into a car in the other lane, so she (without knowingly answering the cell) cussed a wholestring of profanities, and told me to answer the phone, so I did. But because it was already on, I accidentally hung up (which made my mom cuss more). All my dad got out of that conversation was "bleep! bleep!" and then it hung up, haha.
When I got home I was in tears so I went in my room and started cleaning (what i do when I'm upset). My dad got home and obviously talked to my mother so he came and said we could go driving if we wanted, but I said no (my door was locked, he asked to come in and I said no to that too). Later, when I was halfway through putting my clothes away I called him back and said that I would go driving when I was finished cleaning my room. The 1st half of the time I was in my room and I was venting about the stupid keyring so my eyes were all big and puffy. I had to use lotsa make up to get them to look halfway normal.
After driving, which went pretty smoothly:), we went back home and my dad's friend Mark was there and we had dinner (beef strogonaff, or however you spell it). Then we had cake and I opened my presents: earrings, a make up thing from Italy, a camera case,$30 certificate to the mall, a bracelet, and another pair of earrings. I think it was the most I've ever gotten in one birthday (that stuff up there is everything from everyone, even g-parents and friends).
Thanks for listening to me rant;-P.
I really needed to tell someone that.
I'm gonna go get my keyring out of the trash.
